Exhibition Rules for Entering Shows
Please keep this for reference
-
Entry fees are not refundable.
-
Entries must be submitted on the take-in day and signed in on the official Whittier Art Gallery inventory sheet and current Gallery title cards.
-
Entries for sale are subject to the Gallery's 30% commission. For two or more entries, one item can be marked as not for sale (NFS).
-
Work must be original - not another artist's work or copies of professional photographs. Art previously exhibited in a juried Whittier Art Gallery show may not be entered.
-
Professional, clean, and dry presentation on all sides of artwork is required for entry. Due to Gallery hanging system, all artwork to be hung requires picture wire. Appropriate weight monofilament may be used for hanging textile art.
-
If artwork requires special installation, please make arrangements/discuss with an Exhibition Committee member.
-
All accepted artwork shall remain in the Gallery until posted take-out day. Most shows close on a Saturday, followed by a Sunday transition day when take-out occurs. If you cannot pick up your artwork on time, please notify the gallery and arrange to have someone pick it up for you. If art remains past the take-out date and no arrangements are made, the artwork may become the property of the Whittier Art Gallery.
-
The Exhibition Committee reserves the right to decline any submitted piece. For questions or further information, please call the Gallery at (562) 698-8710.
